Rosedale
Rosedale is located on Yale Road East 13.5 km (8.5 miles) east of
Chilliwack and 42 km (26 miles) west
of Hope via the Agassiz-Rosedale Hwy.
Chilliwack
District
Rosedale is included in the Municipality of Chilliwack although
people often consider it a different community being on the far
eastern side of Chilliwack. Another nearby small community east
of Rosedale on Yale Road is called Popkum
which has a number of tourist attractions on Trans-Canada Hwy 1
near Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park.

Hwy 1
Coming from Vancouver or Hope on Trans-Canada
Hwy 1, take the take the exit for Bridal Falls Provincial Park to
access Rosedale. You then take the Agassiz-Rosedale Hwy and turn
south on Yale Road at the Popkum Country Market and Wildcat Grill
for Minter Gardens and Rosedale.
Agriculture
Industry
Rosedale is a very small community but is made up of lots of small
farms and agriculture industry. Throughout this part of the Fraser
Valley, the dairy industry and cornfields spread out farther on
both sides of the Fraser River, especially Agassiz and the rest
of the District of Kent.
Business
and Commercial Section
The business and commercial section of Rosedale is mostly situated
on Yale Road near the intersection of McGrath Road. Here you can
find a number of conveniences including the Village Square, Rosedale
Grocery, Rosedale Value Market, Lee's Restaurant, the Post Office
and TYCROP.
TYCROP
The largest employer, besides the agriculture industry in Rosedale,
is TYCROP a designer and manufacturer of mobile equipment. When
driving on the British Columbia highways, you'll have noticed a
number of sawdust chip carrying bulk trailers on the road. Many
of these trailers have been built by TYCROP at the plant in Rosedale.
Minter
Gardens
One of Lower Mainland's biggest garden attractions called Minter
Gardens is located at foot of Mount Cheam just north on Yale Road.
Operated by Brian Minter and family, this attraction can offer so
much inspiration and guidance when designing gardens. If you enjoyed
the Butchart Gardens near Victoria
in Central
Saanich, make sure you plan to see Minter Gardens when visiting
Rosedale.
Rosedale
Park
For relaxing, if you have been travelling, try going to the Rosedale
Community Park located at Yale Road East and Old Yale Road. The
park features a ball diamond complete with changing rooms, a kids'
play area, a picnic area and washrooms.
Cheam
Lake Wetlands Regional Park
Also located near Rosedale is Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park,
a great park if you enjoy birdwatching and nature viewing. The park
is situated off the Agassiz-Rosedale Hwy 9 on Yale Road East. Look
for the signs directing you to the parking lot into Cheam Lake and
the wetlands.
Coyote
Bay Pub
A very nice establishment and Rosedale's meeting and entertainment
spot, the Coyote Bay Pub is at 51277 Yale Road near McGrath Road.
The staff and patrons of the pub are quite friendly and the food
is well-recommended especially the hamburgers.
Bridal
Veil Falls Provincial Park
Situated just across Hwy 1 from Popkum Country Market on the Agassiz-Rosedale
Hwy is Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park in Popkum. Well worth the
visit as the Bridal Veil Falls are only a 15-minute walk over a
fairly easy trail or you can enjoy the forest on the longer Woodland
Trail.
Tourist
Attractions
Also at Bridal Falls, you can find a number of tourist attractions
that include Bridal Falls Water Park, Bridal Veil Falls Provincial
Park and Bridal Falls Golf Club.
Fuel
and Restaurants
For
fuel and a restaurant, try visiting the Bridal Falls Travel Centre
or go back to the Esso at the Popkum Country Market and where next
door for food is found at the Wildcat Grill.
