Cultus Lake
Cultus Lake is a resort community located approximately 90 km (55 miles) east of Vancouver, just south of the community of Chilliwack.

Columbia Valley Highway
To get to Cultus Lake, you have to travel 11 km (7 miles) south-west of Chilliwack from the Trans-Canada Hwy 1. You take either the Yarrow or Sardis exits and travel along the Columbia Valley Highway into the small community of Cultus Lake situated at the north-east end of Cultus Lake.

Summer Season
The small community of Cultus Lake is very popular during the summer with the population growing quite substantially, especially during the months of July and August. The community is made up of a number of RV resorts as well as people who own small cabins and recreational property.

Businesses and Services
There are a number of businesses and services that operate in Cultus Lake, most on a seasonal schedule, with reduced hours during the wet and winter seasons.

Warm Water in Summer
If you're into swimming, boating or jet skiing Cultus Lake is a wise choice if visiting the Fraser Valley in the summer. The water is quite warm, crystal clear and usually very calm with lots of opportunity to experience a good number of ski trips or tubes.

Attractions for Children
There are a number of attractions available for you and your children to visit in the community of Cultus Lake. The entertainment theme is mostly kid-based with emphasis on fun and water sports such as go-carts, mini-golf at Giggle Ridge Adventure Golf, Funland for paddle boats and waterslides at Cultus Lake Waterpark.

Cultus Lake Golf Club
For golfers there is a nice 18-hole course at Cultus Lake Golf Club. With a total distance of just under 4,000 yards through a forested setting the fairways really have some challenges. Besides the great course, Cultus Lake Golf Club offers a 20-stall driving range and, for food and refreshments, Legends Bistro and a full-service pro shop.

Quirky Bird Café
A local favourite for something to eat is called the Quirky Bird Café. Centrally located at 4125 Columbia Valley Road in the Cultus Lake Plaza, the Quirky Bird Café has nice always fresh 'home-style' cooked meals. Quirky Bird Café can be reached by telephone at (604) 858-9100 for current operating hours.

Cultus Lake Provincial Park
Cultus Lake Provincial Park is located west of the community. The park contains four separate campgrounds with a total of 295 campsites, some very private, and all within easy reach of Cultus Lake. The provincial park also features several sandy beaches, a boat launch, five walking trails ranging in difficulty, and hot showers at all four campgrounds.

Trails and Nature Viewing
Most of the walking trails, nature habitats and mountain biking routes are open year round for you to enjoy at Cultus Lake. One favourite walk is called Teapot Hill that takes you 5 km (3 miles) to a vantage point where the view of Cultus Lake and the surrounding Columbia Valley is breathtaking. Another popular walk is along the Liumchen Lake Trail.

Vedder Peak
Another trail area where both mountain bikes and dirt motorcycles play in the mud is up on Vedder Peak. To get here, head towards Hwy 1 from Cultus Lake and turn at Paramenter Road, go until a fork is in the road, park here. Look for the Vedder Ridge Loop sign for the mountain bike trail. A word of warning, use only the trails designated for either mountain bikes or dirt motorcycles, as each group has specialized in the trail maintenance.

Chilliwack River Fishing
Some people claim that Cultus Lake and the nearby Chilliwack River have some of the best fishing in the world. Sometimes it's hard to argue with crystal clear rivers, amazing mountains, abundant wildlife and some very large trees that seem to reach for the sky in all directions. The Chilliwack offers angling for Chum, Coho and Sockeye and Steelhead Salmon. Please check with BC Fisheries for current regulations, licence fees and the fishing limits.
