& Coombs Country
Coombs is a small rural community situated in a region of agriculture
and pastoral lands and is home to a number of small market farms
specializing in organic fruit and vegetables. Coombs, together with
the nearby villages of Errington and Hilliers, are all part of an
area called Arrowsmith & Coombs Country.
Old Country Market
Coombs is home to one of the biggest attractions on Vancouver Island
at The Old Country Market. There are goats that live and graze on
a grass roof at the top of the building. There is also a great selection
of food, fruits, vegetables, and delicatessen treats plus various
novelty items from all corners of the world.
Most of the Coombs community is located on Highway 4A just before
the junction of Highway 4 which goes to either Port Alberni or Qualicum
Beach. The businesses located in Coombs include, artisans galleries,
pottery studios, tourist attractions plus quite a few antique, curio
and collectable shops.
During the summertime there is a small amusement park for children,
complete with a Ferris wheel, bumper cars and joy rides. Your children
will have a blast and you will have fun shopping for bargains at
The Old Country Market.
If you're hungry Coombs contains a few places including Red's Classic
Cafe, Coombs Café, Homestead Restaurant and the Frontiersman
Pub all ready to serve home-cooked meals. Coombs also has a fairground
at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds hosting various events from early spring
to late fall including a rodeo and bluegrass festival.

with a display of free-flying exotic tropical butterflies and 12
