Kleena Kleene
Is located approximately 8 km (5 miles) south-east of One Eye Lake in the Chilcotin-Cariboo region of British Columbia.

Travelling Here
From Williams Lake, travel approximately 240 km west on Hwy 20 to the small unincorporated community. Kleena Kleene is about 66 km (41 miles) east of Nimpo Lake and 16 km (10 miles) west of Tatla Lake. Anahim Lake, which has a small community airport (YAA) and is serviced from Vancouver by Pacific Coastal Airlines, is located about 80 km (50 miles) away.

Commercial Services
Kleena Kleene has a population of approximately 20 people; no commercial services are available, other than a few businesses that rely on seasonal activity (mainly fishing and adventure lodges). The only real evidence that you are in Kleena Kleene is an old log cabin situated on Hwy 20 that serves as a postal depot. Most services, although limited, can be found either at Nimpo Lake or Tatla Lake.

Fishing
The ranchland and farmland around Kleena Kleene is well suited to cattle and horse production. The geographical area of the Chilcotin plains is also full of lakes, creeks, and rivers, including the headwaters of the Dean River, which is world famous for its Steelhead fishing potential. Other prominent fishing areas nearby, especially between June 1st and September 30th, include Klinaklini and McClinchy Rivers plus Tatla, Sapeye, One Eye, Big Stick, Clearwater, Nimpo, and Horn Lakes.

Chilanko Lodge
At one time Chilanko Lodge, situated near One Eye Lake, served the eco-tourism demand in the Kleena Kleene area, specializing in horseback riding, flat plane sightseeing, river rafting, hunting, and fishing. The facility utilized a private airstrip near Kleena Kleene, called Chilanko Lodge Airport CBX3. Chilanko Lodge also served as a crisis centre for troubled youth but later was involved in a legal issue concerning animal abuse. Eventually the lodge was shut down and sold to actress Michelle Pfeifer and her partner David E. Kelly in November, 2008.

Lodges and Outfitters
A number of lodges and outfitters are still available around Kleena Kleene, serving the area's demand for world-class, outdoor recreation opportunities. A couple of favourites include Clearwater Lake Lodge and Resort and Terra Nostra Guest Ranch. Others include Atnarko Lodge, One Eye Outfit, and Crazy Bear Wilderness Lodge.

Recreation Sites
If you enjoy camping, some rustic camping is available near Kleena Lake at Clearwater Lake, Big Stick Lake, Miner Lake, Tatla Lake, and One Eye Lake, using the British Columbia Recreation Sites. Just remember there is a limited number of campsites at each site; aside from a pit-toilet, there are generally no facilities available and you have to pack your garbage out.
